The Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage in Europe offered by the ESCRBC, in collaboration with the Royal Tapestry Factory (Real Fábrica de Tapices) for the specialization in the conservation of tapestries and knotted carpets, provides advanced and multidisciplinary training in the field of conservation-restoration. It is aimed at professional, academic, and research specialization.
Its main goal is to improve and update the previous training of graduates in cultural heritage conservation-restoration, enabling them to acquire the necessary skills and qualifications (MECES Level 3 / EQF Level 7) to enter the European labor market as highly qualified conservators-restorers of cultural heritage, and to participate in research tasks.
The general structure of the curriculum is based on a core of compulsory subjects along with optional courses. This gives the Master’s program the flexibility needed to tailor the training, according to the student’s preferences, either toward a specific specialization or a deeper study of selected subjects.
Thus, each student can choose specific courses from the curriculum or pursue a particular specialization.
