Extracurricular Activities

ESCRBC organizes extracurricular activities throughout the academic year for its students, graduates, and other individuals interested in updating their skills or improving their training in specialized fields related to the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.

One of the notable activities is the Work Campaigns traditionally offered during the summer exclusively for the school’s students. These summer campaigns allow ESCRBC students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in situ under conditions often irreproducible in restoration workshops, providing them with a first-hand experience of what will soon become their working environment for many.

In addition to the summer campaigns, ESCRBC has been offering various evening activities for over a decade, such as lecture series on preventive conservation, or courses like gilding applied to bookbinding, conservation of photographic collections, or preservation of film materials, among many others.

Furthermore, for over twenty years, ESCRBC has hosted weekly activities organized by the Spanish Association of Friends of Archaeology, of which it is an honorary member, as well as occasional technical sessions organized by AESCROM, the association of students and alumni of the school.

The speakers for these courses and lectures are always professionals of recognized prestige, and sometimes also professors from ESCRBC. The prices of extracurricular activities are usually partially subsidized for ESCRBC students and alumni, and participants receive the corresponding certificate of attendance, which they can subsequently use for applying for
