Example of Best Practices: ERASMUS 2018

cofinanciado

In 2018, the ERASMUS program of ESCRBC was selected by the National ERASMUS Agency as a Good Practice Example. This distinction recognizes mobility projects that have been exceptionally well-managed and can serve as inspiration for other educational institutions.

This achievement is a source of great pride for our school, and we want to celebrate it with our students, teachers, and non-teaching staff, especially those involved in the mobilities. We also want to express gratitude to all institutions that host our representatives each year, as well as those that send their own representatives to us. This exchange strengthens ties within our European cultural community and reinforces our commitment to education and international collaboration.

We are committed to continuing to offer enriching experiences through the ERASMUS program, thereby contributing to the personal and professional development of our students and the strengthening of our European educational network.

The Superior School of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (ESCRBC) has a long tradition of seeking international agreements to improve the state of conservation-restoration education globally.

For many years, the School has participated in numerous forums discussing the future of the profession internationally, and consequently, the present and future of education for conservators and restorers.

For instance, ESCRBC was the first Spanish educational institution to join the European Network for Conservation-Restoration Education (ENCoRE), advocating consistently for the need to establish a common European framework as a reference for the training of conservation-restoration professionals, which necessarily includes a sufficient curriculum in specific fields of study.

Moreover, ESCRBC has been involved in various international projects over the past decades, such as the development of a multilingual glossary of terms used in conservation-restoration, a multi-year project in collaboration with the Secco Suardo Foundation (Italy), among other prestigious European institutions.

ESCRBC holds the Erasmus Charter and actively participates in the Erasmus+ Program by sending and hosting students and staff from numerous European educational institutions.

Additionally, ESCRBC has a bilateral agreement with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) for student and staff mobility under the SEMP (Swiss-European Mobility Program). This program is organized and funded by the Swiss government.

Lastly, it’s worth noting that ESCRBC has a collaboration agreement with the Vatican Museums, facilitating student internships at their facilities.
