Admission Criteria and Profile
The Master’s program is aimed at graduates in conservation and restoration (MECES Level 2 / EQF Level 6) who wish to expand their skills through advanced, multidisciplinary training, with an emphasis on research and professional integration in international—especially European—contexts.
The program builds upon the content of the Higher Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage offered at ESCRBC (Decree 33/2011), so it is essential to demonstrate equivalent prior training. This requirement ensures the academic benefit of students and is necessary for graduates of this Master’s program to meet the qualification standards for practicing the profession in other countries.
To ensure that students’ academic level matches the program and that the acquired competencies align with international standards for conservation-restoration professionals at the Master’s level, applicants must have previous training consistent with the basic contents established by the Spanish Ministry of Education for undergraduate artistic education in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (Royal Decree 635/2010). If not, complementary training may be required.
Particularly important are prior competencies in:
Professional Management and Organization
Conservation-Restoration Projects
Research and Documentation Methodology
These areas are specifically expanded upon in the Master’s curriculum.
A minimum B2 language proficiency level is recommended to facilitate student mobility and participation in international internships.
