Introduction to the Master’s Degree – Edition III

The Master’s Degree in Artistic Education in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage in Europe, offered by the ESCRBC, provides advanced and multidisciplinary training in the field of conservation and restoration. It is oriented towards professional, academic, and research specialization. Its main objective is to enhance and update the prior education of graduates in conservation-restoration of cultural heritage, allowing them to acquire the necessary skills and qualification level (MECES Level 3 / EQF Level 7) to enter the European labor market as highly qualified cultural heritage conservator-restorers, as well as to participate in research projects.

The general curriculum structure, based on a core of compulsory subjects along with elective courses, gives the program the flexibility needed to focus training, according to each student’s preferences, on a specific specialization or on in-depth study of particular topics. Each student may choose to select specific courses from the syllabus or pursue a full specialization. The specialization in Conservation of Tapestries and Knotted Carpets is offered in collaboration with the Royal Tapestry Factory.
