Admission Criteria – Candidate Profile
The Master’s program is aimed at graduates in conservation and restoration (MECES Level 2 / EQF Level 6) who wish to expand their skills through advanced and multidisciplinary training. The program promotes research skills and facilitates the integration of professionals in an international, especially European, context.
The program builds on the content of the Higher Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage taught at ESCRBC (Decree 33/2011), and equivalent training is therefore required. This is essential both to ensure student success and to meet the professional requirements in surrounding countries.
To ensure that students’ prior training aligns with the Master’s level and international standards in conservation-restoration, their background should match the core contents established by the Spanish Ministry of Education for undergraduate higher artistic education in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage (Royal Decree 635/2010). Otherwise, they may be required to complete additional preparatory courses.
Particularly relevant are prior knowledge in “Professional Management and Organization,” “Conservation-Restoration Projects,” and “Research and Documentation Methodology,” as this Master’s specifically expands on these subjects.
It is recommended to have a B2 language proficiency level to facilitate student mobility and the option to carry out external internships abroad.
