On April 9, 1969, a significant milestone was reached with the publication of the Ministerial Order that granted our School its own Regulations. In commemoration of this event, we chose the same date in 2019 to present our 50th anniversary, held at the Museum of America, which was the first independent headquarters of our institution. The event was filled with emotion and was attended by the Honorable Minister of Education and Research of the Community of Madrid, Mr. Rafael Van Grieken, as well as the participation of the Deputy Director General of State Museums, Ms. Carmen Jiménez, from the General Directorate of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture, our Director General of Universities, Mr. José Manuel Torralba, our host, the Director of the Museum of America, Ms. Encarnación Hidalgo, and our Director, Ms. Ruth Viñas, who offered a brief overview of our history before a large representation of students, alumni, and friends of the ESCRBC. The event provided a magnificent opportunity for different generations of Spanish conservators and restorers to exchange anecdotes and experiences at a great party that we all enjoyed.
